PROJECT SUMMARY

Curo Interiors transformed The Spa at Coworth Park with a full refurbishment and gym extension, elevating luxury for the world-renowned Dorchester Collection.

Coworth Park is the quintessential British retreat, settled in a quiet corner of the Berkshire countryside. It’s a hotel steeped in history, but one that offers the modern luxury of first-in-class spa facilities. 

We’re proud to have added to the legacy of this estate. In collaboration with design consultants, Sparc Studio, and our supply partners KLAFs, our work has delivered innovation and elegance to one of the UK’s foremost wellness destinations. It provides the necessary balance, blending contemporary spaces with the client’s signature elegance.

PROJECT Delivery

The former sauna area made way for a luxury thermal suite. This came complete with snow room, steam room, sauna, and showers. Fluted tiles and LED-lit mosaic feature walls provided the finishing flourish, as they frame the amethyst-lined pool, creating a serene, light-washed ambiance. 

Reinvigoration was required for the changing rooms, which were upgraded with bespoke joinery. The poolside area received its own makeover with new furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), wall and floor finishes, a custom designed water fountain, and improved lighting. 

We then reconfigured four individual treatment rooms to enhance the spa’s luxury offering. Each room now serves a dedicated purpose, offering their own separate, ethereal experience. Acoustic-rated walls wrap each space in comfort and privacy. Bespoke joinery and sleek vanity units bring a crafted elegance, while timber floors, plush carpets, and a full redecoration set a fresh tone. The centrepiece of the room is a beautifully restored, original stone fireplace. It’s a timeless touch that anchors the design to the property’s past. 

On the lower ground floor, we extended the gym area by integrating a striking glass façade into the existing structure and living roof. Structural strengthening works continued to form a critical part of the project, as we reinforced the existing glulam columns to ensure long-term stability and safety. We upgraded the gym with timber-clad walls, bespoke storage joinery, and state-of-the-art Technogym equipment supplied by the hotel.

PROJECT OUTCOME

With transformation complete, The Spa at Coworth Park continues to offer guests an exceptional experience that is now defined by its innovation, and, above all, tranquillity.
